The scope of practice for naturopathic health care includes all aspects of family and primary care, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Naturopaths can help patients with ailments such as colds and influenza; injuries; hormonal and sleep disorders; and especially
emotional issues. Also, help is possible with more chronic health concerns such as, autoimmune disorders, arthritis, allergies,
depression, fibromalgia, digestive disorders, asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and more. Emphasis is on treatment of the
whole person with prevention of disease, encouragement of bodies' immate healing abilities and personal responsibility for one's
own health.
Furthermore, in addressing your illness or efforts to optimize your health and wellness, naturopaths may employ nutritional
supplements, herbal remedies and/or homeopathic remedies; recommend hydrotherapy treatments (colonics or ionic foot baths
for detoxification), exercise and stress management; and changes in eating and lifestyle habits. Naturopaths take the time to
listen to you and to learn about the whole person--honoring the "mind-body connection". As a partner in your own health care,
you play an integral role in making decisions about your treatment plan. You will be amazed at the healing power of your own
body with the right kind of help.
